3-D MAMMOGRAPHY

3-D mammography is a brief, low-dose X-ray sweep around the breast. It takes multiple images in

a matter of seconds. These images help the doctor make a clear diagnosis. Quest Imaging is the

only place in Kern County that offers this technology. It’s proven to be 41 percent more effective at

detecting breast cancer than traditional mammography.

“This is exactly what you want in a screening test: increased tumor pickup and decreased

false-positives,” says James A. Cusator, MD, a diagnostic radiologist and the medical director

at Quest Imaging. “The combination of the two helps with earlier detection of cancer and also

decreases anxiety and cost from unnecessary recalls.”

The American Cancer Society urges most women to have yearly mammograms starting at

age 40. For appointments, let your doctor know that you want to go to Quest Imaging for 3-D

mammography.

Quest Imaging at San Joaquin Community Hospital (SJCH) now has three

locations. We take pride in our beautiful facilities and friendly staff. Best of all,

the latest technology reduces wait times and helps make a faster diagnosis.

The new facility is located downtown. We look forward to seeing you!
