A 5-Alarm
success
If you missed the
5-Alarm BBQ but
would still like to make
a donation to The
Grossman Burn Center
at SJCH, please contact
the SJCH Foundation at

ON JULY 2,
The Grossman Burn Center
at San Joaquin Community Hospital
(SJCH) was proud to pair with
Chevron to host the second annual
5-Alarm BBQ—an event that was
designed to raise awareness of the
Grossman Burn Center and raise funds
for the Chevron Fund.
The Chevron Fund provides critical
financial assistance to child burn
survivors—more than 42 percent of the
patients in the Grossman Burn Center at SJCH
are children under the age of 18.
Once again, the event was a huge success! More
than 1,800 hamburgers (a veggie burger option was
introduced this year) were sold and over $69,000
was raised.
SJCH partnered with our local NBC affiliate,
KGET Channel 17; Chevron; and the Bakersfield
City Fire Department and the Kern
County Fire Department to sell
hamburger lunches for three hours.
Bakersfield residents came out in
droves, despite the warm tempera-
tures, to support this worthy cause.
Thank you for your support!
